Dr. Alexandria Rios Taylor is an educational leader whose career has been defined by the belief in Sí Se Puede — yes, we can. As Principal of Mundelein High School in District 120, she transformed outcomes for students, raising the graduation rate from 87.5% to 95% while helping to close a multimillion budget deficit — proof that equity-centered leadership and fiscal stewardship are not at odds, but aligned. Her work has consistently centered culturally responsive practices, data-driven improvement, and amplifying the voices of underrepresented communities in education. Dr. Rios Taylor brings both the financial acumen and the missional heart to serve Latino administrators and superintendents across Illinois with excellence and confianza. Dr. Rios Taylor also currently serves as a NASSP Ambassador, a member of ISBE’s School Health Advisory Committee, and a proud participant in both ALAS and IALAS. Her educational career spans over two decades, beginning as a Spanish teacher at Neuqua Valley High School, and progressing through roles as Dean of Students, Equity Coordinator, and Assistant Principal in Glenbard District 87 before ascending to the principalship. She holds a Doctorate in Educational Administration from Aurora University, a Master’s degree from Benedictine University, and a Bachelor’s degree from North Central College. She was recognized as a top educator in her decade and was given the Outstanding Alumnus Award in 2020.
