Darlene’s professional training includes a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and a M.S.I. in Bilingual-Bicultural Education from Northeastern Illinois University. She received a M.A. in Educational Administration from Governors State University. In August of 2020, she became an Assistant Principal at a Dual Language School in West Chicago. In 2022, she had the honor of accepting a position at Addison Trail High School in the Dean’s office. Darlene started the 2023-2024 school year as Director of Deans and Coordinator for the Achieve Program. She recently became a board member for Illinois Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (IALAS). She will also be starting her second year as a Doctoral student at National Louis University working on a degree in Ed.D. Strategic Educational Leadership. Darlene is married and has two teenage boys who are a Freshman and Junior this school year.
