Maria Burgos has served in the education field for the past twenty years in a multitude of roles, as a Bilingual Educator, Assistant Principal,Principal, Director of English Learners, Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, and currently serves as Executive Director of Curriculum PreK-5 in Valley View School District 365U. Ms. Burgos has cultivated involvement within the community through the development of an array of programs focused on the integration of embracing culture and family involvement. Ms. Burgos has optimized students’ learning experiences by leading implementation of Dual Language Programs in order to ensure the development of biliterate and bicultural students that are academically and linguistically high achieving. Maria is in the process of completing her doctoral degree from National Louis University with a focus on Educational Leadership. She was awarded a fellowship in The Stars School Leadership Project which allowed her to obtain a Masters of Education from DePaul University and possesses a Masters Degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language Degree from Northern Illinois University. Ms. Burgos was nationally recognized by ALAS with the Hispanic Serving Administrator of the Year during the 2017-2018 school year.
